Jaguar is considered to be one of the best car companies in the world and one of the most representative automotive companies in Europe. On 1948 Jaguar launched their first sports car, the XK-120 at the London Motor Show, offered in both two-seat coupe and two-seat convertible forms.

The Jaguar XK-120 was a two-seater, and it had the new XK series 3.4-liter DOHC inline six-cylinder engine that produced 180 hp and a top speed of 120 mph. This powerful engine made the XK-120 the fastest car in the world in 1948.

This amazing British classic sports car had a successful racing history, the first race victory ever that the Jaguar XK120 had was in 1949, in the Silverstone Circuit in England. In January of 1950, the XK120 had the first competition victory in America, which took place in Palm Beach Shores, Florida.

Jaguar started a very successful path in the automotive world with the creation of the Jaguar XK-120, a car that was the fastest in the world and that was built with the highest quality and standards of that time. The Jaguars Car Company produced 12,055 until they ended production in 1954, replacing the XK-120 for the XK-140.
